About
I paint in oils, mostly figures, portraits, and still lifes. I'm drawn to quiet, everyday moments and the way light can transform something ordinary into something worth slowing down for. Whether I'm painting a person, a bowl of fruit, or a corner of a room, I'm chasing the feeling that made me stop and look in the first place. My work is rooted in observation, with an impressionist realist approach, and I work from life whenever I can alongside carefully developed reference studies. I'm based in St. Louis, Missouri.
I studied Studio Art at Lindenwood University, but after spending years focused on a career in software engineering and the last few years postpartum, I've been learning to draw again with fresh eyes. Over the past few years I've returned to a disciplined studio practice, studying drawing and painting through workshops, critiques, and lots of hours at the easel. I'm excited to see where that journey leads, and I hope each painting is a little stronger than the last.
